Why tech brands work with us

City Road Communications is a specialist technology PR agency in London. We help tech companies define their message, reach the right audiences and secure coverage that matters commercially. Our parent group owns UKTN, the UK’s technology news publication, so we understand how technology stories are commissioned, written and read.

  • Messaging and positioning that explains what the technology does and why it matters without jargon.
  • Tech media relations across national, business, trade and specialist titles, reaching investors, prospects and partners.
  • Data-led campaigns that give journalists new evidence about your market.
  • Technology thought leadership on regulation, adoption and the issues shaping your category.
  • AI visibility, so that when buyers ask AI assistants for suppliers, your name is in the answer.

AI companies

AI businesses face a specific challenge: intense media interest combined with deep scepticism. We position AI clients around governance, safety and demonstrable outcomes. For RAIDS AI we built a messaging framework around the EU AI Act and secured coverage in Forbes, City AM and TechRadar before the company had launched. For Inntelo AI we delivered more than 100 pieces of coverage and measurable growth in how often the business is recommended by AI assistants.

SaaS and enterprise software

Enterprise buyers research for months before they engage. Our SaaS programmes combine executive profiling, customer stories and trade press coverage so that your business is already trusted when the buying committee starts its shortlist.

Deep tech and start-ups

For early-stage businesses the goal is often investment and talent as much as customers. We took Magdrive, a space propulsion company, from limited profile to 62 pieces of coverage with an online readership of 903 million as it built the case for growth funding.

How technology PR is different

Technology journalists are specialists who receive hundreds of pitches a week. They respond to clear explanations, real customers, original data and spokespeople with a view. We build all four into every programme.

How we help

All services
  • Strategy Development and Brand Positioning

We work out what you stand for, who needs to hear it and how to say it, then turn that into a plan.

  • Key Messaging Development

A messaging framework gives everyone in your business the same clear story to tell, from the boardroom to the press release.

  • Executive Profiling

Even in B2B, people buy from people. We make sure your senior leaders are the ones journalists, investors and buyers turn to.

  • Press Office

An always-on press office that gets your announcements to the right journalists and keeps your business visible between them.

We find the point of view your market needs to hear, then build the content and coverage that makes it yours.

  • Reactive PR

When the news agenda touches your market, we get your spokesperson's view to journalists while the story is still being written.

  • AI Visibility

Your buyers now ask AI assistants who to talk to. We make sure the answer includes you, using the same earned coverage those tools trust.

  • Quantitative Research

Original data gives journalists a reason to write about you and gives your leaders something worth saying.

  • Content Creation

Content written by people who have worked as journalists, so it is clear, accurate and worth reading.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with pre-launch technology companies?

Yes. Some of our best results have come from companies we started working with before launch, because messaging and profile were in place from day one.

Which technology publications do you work with?

National technology and business desks, trade titles such as TechRadar, Computer Weekly, Tech.eu and Sifted, sector specialists, and UKTN, which is part of our own group. Editorial independence at UKTN is maintained: CRC clients receive no preferential coverage.

CRC is part of MVI, which owns UKTN. Can technology clients buy coverage on UKTN?

No. UKTN is editorially independent, and its journalists decide what to cover on news value alone. CRC clients receive no preferential treatment, and we never promise coverage in any MVI title. What being part of the group behind UKTN does give our technology clients is an inside understanding of what tech editors look for, which we apply across the national, business and trade press.

Can you support an international company entering the UK?

Yes. We run UK launch programmes for overseas technology businesses, including messaging adaptation, media introductions and reactive commentary on the UK market.
