Public relations or PR is the practice of managing and circulating information to curate public perception of an individual or organisation. PR is an internally controlled narrative put out externally to the public. 

Targeted PR campaigns typically run over a 3-to-6-month period. Having said that, some campaigns can be extended for several more months based on media reaction and consumer interest. A senior account manager will always manage your account, and for the duration there will be consistent analysis of the running campaigns. Junior executives will be on hand to carry out research and help in the implementation of the campaign.
