Case study: Shojin

Shojin

Shojin is an investment company that provides access to institutional-grade investment opportunities in the UK real estate sector to investors around the world. Increasing legislation on buy-to-let opportunities has led many investors to seek alternative ways of driving returns in the property market. By identifying attractive opportunities, Shojin offers these investors an alternative way to invest in bricks and mortar – striving to deliver returns superior to those available elsewhere in the market.

The research uncovered some fascinating results, gaining widespread national, regional and trade media attention.

Assignment

As part of its long-term growth strategy, Shojin was looking to improve the visibility of the business. City Road Comms was asked to help generate greater awareness of the company and its unique co-investment model and achieve better profiling for the senior leadership team.

Campaign

In 2022, inflation, rising interests and simmering global tensions posed steep challenges for investors. Amid the market turmoil and uncertainty, we wanted to position Shojin as a leading and respected voice in the investment landscape and draw awareness to the possibilities enabled by proptech and their potential impact on the investment horizon.

To achieve this, we commissioned an independent survey of 690 UK retail investors. The research examined:

  • How investors are responding to the economic challenges
  • The role alternative asset classes are playing in inflation-hedging portfolios
  • The role of real estate within investors’ ambitions
  • The perceived barriers to real estate investing
  • The investment trends emerging from investors’ adjustment to a high-inflation climate
