Consulting at Davies: Sustained media activity to drive brand awareness
In April 2024, we kicked off work for a brand new client. Consulting at Davies is the specialist financial services consultancy division of Davies Group. It helps financial services firms to improve the performance of their business, technology and people.
“Following the rebrand of Sionic to Davies, it was imperative that we communicated this change to existing and prospective clients, while also working to continuously develop our presence in the financial services sector. CRC has been instrumental in developing a strategy that allows us to simultaneously profile the business, shout about who we are and what we do, and deliver high-quality, meaningful and engaging content.” – Gareth Cameron, Director of Marketing & Communications, Consulting at Davies
Assignment
In April 2024, we kicked off work for a brand new client. Consulting at Davies is the specialist financial services consultancy division of Davies Group. It helps financial services firms to improve the performance of their business, technology and people. Like much of our business, we gained the work via a previous client moving into a new role and re-appointing us to their new company.
Nevertheless, although there was a familiar face, like all clients, Consulting at Davies presented a new challenge. In 2021, Davies had purchased Sionic, and in 2023 rebranded it as Consulting at Davies. But no one in the industry was aware of the change. So, the company needed a PR partner to build its profile, raise awareness of the new brand, while still and establish it as a leading voice in the financial services sector. The challenge required proactive PR and communications activities, combined with a high volume of regular content and extra PR for the various marketing teams that manage Consulting at Davies’ different practices.
Campaign
In the first month we got straight to work, commissioning quantitative research on the key challenges faced by financial services firms positioning Consulting at Davies as a thought leader. The data informed an in-depth report and was released to the trade media through press releases and thought leadership articles over several months.
At the same time, we realised we need to put Consulting at Davies’ leaders in the spotlight. Briefings with senior figures within the business were undertaken to provide talking points for media opportunities. Interviews and thought leadership articles were then arranged to ensure the senior leadership team featured in the financial services press.
In addition, the marketing team were able to feed content and PR requests to support the more specific PR aims of the various business practices. This included briefing CRC on article content around relevant, technical topics such as new regulatory compliance and trends such as nurturing talent.
COVERAGE
In the first twelve months of our partnership, we secured 130 pieces of coverage for Peckwater, achieving an estimated 2.72 million views. The high-profile coverage included prominent outlets such as Sky News, Daily Mail, MSN, Yahoo News, and City AM, as well as key trade publications like Propel and Big Hospitality (now Restaurant Magazine).
Our partnership with Peckwater is a great example of the power of a strategic, well-executed PR strategy. We’re proud of the impactful work we achieved together and the lasting impression Peckwater has made in the hospitality industry.
